Recognition of MTR (Macau)’s efforts to foster cross-regional “succession" and cultivate railway professionals

• MTR (Macau) participated and competed for the first time in the “Award for Excellence in Training and Development 2021” organised by the Hong Kong Management Association (“HKMA”) and was honoured to receive the “Excellence Award” and “Special Award: Excellence in Social Impact” for the company’s training programme “Succession Across Two Cities - Development of a New Career as Railway Professionals in Macao" to affirm the team's efforts in staff training and development.

   

  General Manager (Macau LRT) Mr Jeff Chan said, "The Macao LRT is the first railway project in Macao.  As an emerging industry, most of the newly employed staff are new to the industry and lack railway experience.  We have formulated and implemented a professional training programme to equip our staff with the required railway knowledge and skills within a tight schedule, and the team has overcome various challenges.  Succession across two cities to establish a qualified professional local railway team in Macao is indeed a meaningful journey, and we are honoured to contribute to the development of Macao LRT."

   

  The MTR (Macau) Operations Training Centre has designed a series of professional training courses on various aspects of railway operations, including operation, maintenance, safety and quality management, and customer services.  The professional training and development programme has been successfully implemented with remarkable impacts to the employees, the Company, and the community.  The programme not only brings new career development opportunities to local talents in Macao but also lays the foundation for the sustainable development of the railway system.
